Chicago startup develops personal care product designed to help absorb sweat
October 22, 2026
By: Tara Olivo
Cheek Sheets announced the launch of its namesake absorbent sheets, an ultra-thin, dry and discreet personal care product designed to help absorb butt sweat and manage unwanted moisture between the cheeks before it becomes uncomfortable, embarrassing or funky.
The concept is intentionally simple: tear open an individually wrapped Cheek Sheet and tuck it between the cheeks. No powders, sprays, adhesives or wet wipes. Made with spunlace filtration media, the dry 4-by-3-inch absorbent sheet is designed to help soak up moisture where sweat can otherwise linger.
“Butt sweat is something almost everyone understands, but nobody really wants to talk about,” says Alex Wirtz, founder of Cheek Sheets. “The more I looked at the problem, the more ridiculous it seemed that there were products for sweat almost everywhere else on the body, but nothing this simple for your cheeks. We didn’t need to reinvent personal care. We just needed to make something that helps people feel drier, comfortable and confident.”
Cheek Sheets first tested that idea publicly on April 1, 2026, April Fools’ Day, with a Kickstarter campaign built around a product that sounded almost like a joke. People laughed, and then they backed it, according to the company.
The 30-day campaign ultimately raised $10,074 against a $10,000 goal from 32 backers, giving the company the validation it needed to move into production.
“Launching on April Fools’ Day felt right because the first reaction to Cheek Sheets is usually a laugh,” Wirtz says. “Then about five seconds later comes, ‘Wait…that actually makes a lot of sense.’ That reaction has been there from the beginning.”
Cheek Sheets are unscented, individually packaged and thin enough to carry discreetly in a pocket, gym bag, backpack or purse. They are designed for situations where heat, movement and long periods of sitting can create excess moisture, including commuting, workouts, outdoor events, travel, weddings, workdays and hot weather.
By helping absorb sweat and moisture before it builds up, Cheek Sheets are also designed to help keep things feeling fresher and help prevent the funk that can come with sweaty situations.
Cheek Sheets are available in 30-sheet packs for $15 at Cheek-Sheets.com.
